Penn State Flower Trails Field Day 2025

Last Thursday, we took a business field trip to attend the Penn State Flower Trials Field Day up near Lancaster PA. The Penn State Extension Program allow plant breeders and suppliers to test the growth in this regional climate.

We use these trials to build our plant catalog for the upcoming years and get overall inspiration. We can see what the growth looks like and how it performs in this zone so that we are offering what we can grow most successfully. We identified some of our favorites of the show in the photos here.

Market research is fun when the office looks like this.

We especially enjoyed the onsite “idea gardens” showcasing different combinations for garden arrangements as well as opportunities for maximizing small spaces.

While it was a hot day walking through the isles of flowers, it sure serves as inspiration to gardeners and growers alike.
