Boost Your Harvest

The plants you should add to your vegetable and fruit garden to improve the production.

Do you want more tomatoes, zucchinis, or berries from your plants? The secret isn’t just in the soil — it’s in the flowers. By inviting pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hoverflies into your garden, you’re increasing the chances of your plants producing more fruit. The solution is as easy as planting the right blooms.

Here are some of our suggestions:

African Blue Basil - This is a fragrant, edible herb but let it go to bloom and watch the bees buzz!  Since the African blue basil is sterile and doesn't produce seeds, it stays in a bloom for a longer season.  It blooms profusely like an annual, but being sterile can never go to seed.

Calendula - Marigold is a beautiful flower on its own and will draw in many pollinators.

Echinacea (Perennial) - Coneflowers are magnets for butterflies and even goldfinch! They are native and hearty, able to withstand minimal care.

Lavender (Perennial) - Wonderful and practical for gardens alone, but also bring in the bees. Lavender is also a natural mosquito deterent, bonus!

Sunflowers - Excellent for birds and bees alike while adding height and brightness to your garden.

The more you sprinkle throughout your garden, the more your garden will produce! Year after year, your yeild should increase as the pollinators make visits to your garden a habit. Happy harvesting!
