Basil and Patio Tomato Varieties at Berwyn Plants
Berwyn Heights Garden Club Update
This month, the Berwyn Heights Garden Club meeting consisted of a member plant swap
Members of the Berwyn Heights Garden Club met on Thursday, May 22, to participate in a plant swap. Members donated various plants and were able to shop each other's donations for new additions to their own garden.
Berwyn Plants donated 6 varieties of basil, a few patio dwarf varieities of tomatoes, and 4 different colors of dahlias. Other members contributed Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia hirta), tomato varieties, indoor aloe plants, daffodil bulbs, chamomile, and pepper varieties. The Berwyn Plants donations were a hit and each one was claimed before the meeting ended. We came home with a Pablano Pepper to add to our jalepeno and sweet pepper plants in our personal garden.
We not only swapped plants but also planting and gardening advice. This social club gives members somewhere to voice concerns that are common in this area - how to deal with the deer, how to improve the soil, composting advice, etc.
Another successful monthly meeting complete! We look forward to participating again in June.
