Amaryllis In Bloom

The amaryllis flowers have started opening up.

A few of our Amyrillis flowers have opened up in bloom over the last couple of days. It's always such a joy to walk out to the plants each morning and see what has changed over night. This Amyrillis bulb has put out awesome 4 or 5 inch wide red striped white flowers. 

The Amaryllis flowers will bloom once or twice a year. The bloom will last about a month. Once the bloom is done, they get trimmed back and will be dormant until next year. 

Having a variety of perrenials in your garden offers varied blooming cycles and fun surprises throughout the seasons.
